Raising the bar in Health
at the Hid and beyond.
In the coming years, a stunning new campus wil emerge in Amsterdam Nieuw-West: the New West Health & Innovation District (Hid).
A knowledge hub with international allure
for everything related to hematology, immunology, oncology and transfusion medicine.
At the Hid, start-ups, scale-ups, other businesses and knowledge institutions work together on fundamental research, complex diagnostics and the development and production of medicines and vaccines. With more than 2,000 PhD students, biochemists, researchers, lab technicians, professors and other professional the Hid will become the place where a new generation of solutions for patients is developed.
The Hid district focuses on 4 areas: transfusion medicine, hematology, oncology and immunology. This makes the campus unique in the Netherlands.
The Hid is home to more than 2,000 PhD students, biochemists, researchers, lab technicians, professors and other professionals
Hid-resident Sanquin Research alone employs 17 professors from a variety of specialist fields, who work part-time at various Dutch universities
The Hid district now occupies approximately 60,000m² gross floor area. By 2035 that figure should at least double
Connecting people and ideas
At the Hid, state-of- the-art buildings and facilities for life sciences applications with laboratories, clean rooms and office spaces are available. Of course, we also offer excellent facilities to make life on campus as pleasant as possible. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are stimulated through the expansion with Sanquin Academy and an events agency.
